Where are you today? Ceramics 1

my pinch pot!

Well I am officially done with my project! It is exactly how I imagined it would look like! Although I have to say the clay didnt always do what I wanted it to do. When I wanted to attach the two parts of clay together, one was too big and the other was small so it was very difficult to make it fit together. To fix the problem I put pressure on the bigger piece so it would become smaller and I added the coil to the smaller piece and finally attached them! The slipping and scoring was kind of difficult as well because the piece of clay was really big and I have small hands so it was hard for me to handle them!
I have to say I love the outcome! It was totally worth the hard effort. It looks very nice and I am very pleased!

  1. Looking at the Rubric that I gave you in the beginning of the year, this piece falls into a A category. I am looking at: The use of Elements and Principles of design, Technical Skills, Conceptual Skills, Effort, and Creativity. We will look at the rubric together once piece has been glazed and fired again.

Overall a very lovely piece. Good work! Can't wait to see this piece glazed.
