Sgraffito

Sgraffito is a technique either of wall decor, produced by applying layers of plaster tinted in contrasting colors to a moistened surface, or in ceramics, by applying to an unfired ceramic body two successive layers of contrasting slip, and then in either case scratching so as to produce an outline drawing.

I really liked all the steps to this project. I really enjoyed carving out the designs and painting it. The only part that i had a problem with was making the coil pot. The top and bottom wouldn't match in size so it was hard to make them symmetrical. But i love how this all turned out and i would definitely love to do a project like this again!

I absolutely love this piece of sgraffito! it's amazing!!!! i would love to attempt to do this (i'll fail in the process though haha).

I miss you too, Mrs. Gleeson!!!

Over the summer, I volunteered at Martha Jefferson Hospital. It was such a fun expirience because i hope to become a doctor one day and it was so much fun working with doctors and asking all sorts of questions. i also loved working with patients and getting to know them. i'm more confident in talking to people now just because of them!
another thing that i did was go to the movies a lot! my friend works at the movie theater so we would always go and watch free movies! it was awesome!!
so you should definitely watch The Heat, and Pacific Rim! they were SOOO good! especially pacific rim because i watched in IMAX! Despicable me 2 and Monsters University were also really funny and cute :)
i read a lot of nicholas sparks books over the summer, which sounds really cheesy but i love romantic novels! my music for the summer was basically the music they kept on showing on tv or the radio. i loved this summer's music!
i can't really think of a project that we should do because all the projects that you come up with are awesome! :) but to be honest i hate coil projects! ;)
i'm looking forward to making some cool stuff this year!
